On Jan. 15, Shen Yun Performing Arts dazzled theatergoers in Milan, Italy, with traditional Chinese dance, music, and legendary tales. Taken on a mesmerizing journey through ancient China, audiences were left in awe.
Daniele Francescutto, an entrepreneur, said, “The colors, I’ll remember the colors. I’ll remember the choreography, and it will be a memory that we will carry with us for a long time, forever.”
Federica Confalonieri, a doctor said “I would say that this is truly incredible, precisely because of the lightness of these artists, their precision. The fact that they move so well together, their uniqueness, it’s truly incredible. I enjoyed it very much. And what they manage to convey, even with facial expressions, with movement, is beautiful. Very beautiful and very engaging.”
“They all dance at the same time. Their gestures are perfect and convey joy,” said Letizia Secchi, a business owner.
Shen Yun aims to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture and values from before communism, a heritage that ancient Chinese people believed was divinely inspired. Many in the audience were deeply moved by both Shen Yun’s mission and their performance.
“It was very beautiful, and both [my mother] and I liked the idea of tradition and kindness. These are the values we must take away from this show, and remember to put into our lives that we perhaps neglect. We must put them among our top values. The top values on which to base ourselves,” said Mr. Francescutto.
Salvo Interlandi, a business owner said, “It opens up new perspectives. It lightens things up. I take inspiration from what I saw this evening.”
“It’s really a lot of serenity and lightness. I leave feeling light and serene. I was never bored. It all went by very quickly, but at the same time it was like watching these kids fly. There was a lot of lightness in the soul and also in the spirit,” ‘said Barletta Salvatore, a public official.
“I was moved. At times, it also gave you a sense of peace, of serenity,” said Ms. Confalonieri. “Thank you and [I encourage you] to continue this mission, because I think that it’s for them, too.”
Shen Yun will continue to perform in Milan, Italy until Jan. 25.
