Shen Yun Performing Arts enchanted audiences in Sevilla, Spain, on March 18, with a showcase of China’s 5,000 years of civilization. Audience members said they appreciated the classical Chinese dance, live music and heavenly scenes.
“The truth is, I felt a little enveloped. As if I were being taken away by beings from above. The truth is, it was magical. It’s a magic that envelops your feelings. It’s also everything. Even the lyrics of the tenor and soprano singers. It opens your spirituality. And you see that heaven is above. And this is the path we have to take,” said José María Otero Chamorro, a police inspector.
“One thing that particularly caught my attention, and I’ll take it back to my field, was the acrobatics. The technique and cleanliness with which they do everything is spectacular, something I haven’t seen anywhere else,” said José Luis Rasero, an acrobatic performer.
“In terms of scenography, I think it’s the best show I’ve ever seen. Because it seems very complicated to me, and I say this as a professional of the sector. It seems very complicated to me to fit so much music with the movement of the screen,” said Laura Velasco Criado, a dance instructor.
“I have been especially impressed by the dresses. The dresses, the colors, and even the movements with the sleeves. It is a form of expression and art that I have never seen before,” said José Domingo Calle Moreau, a clinic owner.
Shen Yun draws its inspiration from traditional Chinese culture. In ancient China, people believed their culture and values were gifts from the divine. Audience members said Shen Yun delivers an important message.
“I believe that we are standing on the shoulders of giants and we have to maintain that culture because it is something fascinating and we have to pass it on to our children and grandchildren. This is life itself,” said Alejandro González Herrera, a business owner.
“I take away an important message. Truly associated with the importance of traditions and values. Which in a country like this is very important,” said Raquel Chillón, a university department dean.
Shen Yun will be performing in Berlin, Germany, from March 24 through 28.
