Shen Yun Performing Arts graced the stage at the Music Hall at Fair Park in Dallas, Texas, on Jan. 24 and 25, taking audiences on a journey through 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture.
“I just was mesmerized. And I think there was a male dancer who was spinning and spinning and spinning and spinning and spinning, and it was something I couldn’t even imagine,” said Texas State Sen. Angela Paxton. “It just defies the imagination how someone could even learn to do that, but so beautiful, so graceful, so elegant.”
“It’s beautiful. I didn’t know a lot of the stories, and so that was really special to hear and see. And I loved the singer, her voice was amazing,” said Michelle DeVore, the head of marketing at Regis Corporation.
“It was very unique. I liked the cross between the live performance and then the digital performance,” said Brian Davis, the vice president of a company.
“It’s very beautiful, very bright. Makes you feel lively, very graceful and very energetic,” said Antonio Soto, a business owner.
Traditional Chinese culture finds its roots in spirituality and the divine. Shen Yun showcases those themes through classical Chinese dance, music, and ancient legends. Theatergoers also took note of a deeper message.
“You have to see this. You have to make time because it will inspire you. It will cause you to think deeply about the value of human life, and it will cause you to want to do good and kindness and make a difference in our world,” said Paxton.
“I’m so thankful for your skill, for your talent that has been given to you by God, and I encourage you to keep using it, because you’re spreading a message that everyone in the world needs to hear.”
“A very good message. It’s something that’s true to the world. There is a divine power, and the way that you all portray it is very beautiful,” said Soto.
“It’s like nothing else you will see almost anywhere else, in terms of the ability to do the miraculous in their dancing and to do it in unison,” said Richard Brown, a former hospital research director. “Go see it, and I think you’re going to be astonished at what you’re going to see.”
Shen Yun will perform at the Thrasher-Horne Center at St. Johns River State College in Orange Park, Florida, on Jan. 28 and 29.
