Shen Yun Performing Arts received a warm welcome in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Feb. 26, taking the audience on a journey through ancient China. Theatergoers were in awe of the performers’ artistry.
Maritza Aguilar Jusino, a former HR director for the Municipality of San Juan, said, “They’re beautiful, spectacular. I love their acrobatics, I love their costumes, the way they express themselves. They truly are divine.”
Mireya Rudas, a lawyer, said, “The messages conveyed in each of the sketches are truly meaningful. The show itself, the costumes, the staging, the energy, everything was beautiful. I give the organizers a 10 out of 10.”
“The show is spectacular. I absolutely loved the costumes; they fascinated me. The effects are incredible, I’ve never seen anything like them. It’s truly impressive; no one should miss it,” said Eunis Ived Alvarado Ortiz, a former administrator.
Marbel Palenzuela, a business owner, said, “I really loved the 3D effects they use, that’s what makes it magical. They immerse themselves in the fantasy, in the images, bringing them to life.”
Shen Yun’s mission is to revive China’s 5,000 years of civilization and values from before communism, a culture believed to be inspired by the Divine. The company showcases that message through traditional Chinese dance, music, and legends.
Olga Gamboa Gutierrez, a business owner, said, “It’s a way of looking at the past and trying not to live such a fast-paced life like the one we live today. I think it’s a kind of lesson that I really appreciate. Our lives are very hectic, and in a way, Shen Yun is telling us that we need to look back at the past a little.”
Ms. Palenzuela said, “I really liked the message and the reflections they shared in the songs, I loved it. I’m truly leaving very, very satisfied with what I’ve seen.”
Ms. Jusino said, “Beautiful. Each country has its own unique culture. We should embrace that. Our culture is special, China’s culture is special, and that ancestral culture is divine. Beautiful.”
Shen Yun will be performing at the Linda Ronstadt Music Hall in Tucson, Arizona, on Feb. 28 and March 1.
