Health Canada has recalled certain Zwilling electric kettles due to a defect that can cause the handle to loosen or detach, creating a risk of hot water spills and burn injuries.

The recall affects kettles in the Enfinigy and Enfinigy Pro product lines, whose handles may loosen while the appliance is in use.

“In isolated cases, the product defect may cause hot water to spill from the kettle, creating a risk of scalding injuries to the user or bystanders in the immediate area, including small children,” it said in a May 14 press release.

The recall applies to seven models across the Enfinigy and Enfinigy Pro 1.5-litre electric kettle lines.

Health Canada advised consumers to immediately stop using the kettles and register to a return the product through a dedicated website.

The company has received 21 reports of incidents in Canada and one report of a potential injury, according to the release. In the United States, the company has received 96 reports of incidents and one report of a potential injury.

Health Canada is issuing the recall jointly with the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Approximately 43,963 kettles affected by the recall have been sold in Canada to date, as well as 113,440 in the United States, and 48 in Mexico, according to Health Canada. The affected kettles were sold between February 2020 and February 2026, and were manufactured in China.

Canadian customers are also advised to report incidents to the Canadian government at its dedicated product safety website.

The German appliance maker said in a statement it would fully reimburse affected customers and asked the public to share the recall information with anyone who may be using the kettles, including those who may have borrowed, purchased, or received the products as gifts.
