President Donald Trump is reported to have called Jeff Bezos after a report claimed that Amazon was considering showing U.S. tariff costs next to product prices—an alleged move the White House called “hostile and political” and saying that “Amazon has partnered with a Chinese propaganda arm. So this is another reason why Americans should buy American.” Amazon, however, has denied plans to implement the change on its main site.
