Appeals Court Rules for DOGE; Trump Admin Announces USAID to Mostly Be Shuttered | Facts Matter
After a short legal battle, a federal appeals court determined that the Trump administration has the authority to severely curtail the operations of USAID.
Most USAID employees have already been fired, 83 percent of the agency’s contracts have been terminated, its headquarters has been given to another agency, and, on top of all that, the State Department just announced that within the next three months, anything within USAID that’s to be kept will be rolled into the State Department, while everything else will be discontinued—effectively making the agency a mere shell of it’s former self.
