Canada to Announce Retaliatory Tariffs on US; State Department to Revoke Visas of Asylum Seekers

Canada is set to announce retaliatory trade measures on Tuesday in response to the United States’ latest tariffs, with the finance minister and senior officials unveiling the moves in Ottawa.

The Trump administration is working to revoke the visas of foreign nationals who entered the United States as short-term visitors and then sought asylum. State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott said on Monday that the department will work with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on the process but did not say how many visas would be revoked.
