Concert Pianist Calls Shen Yun an Ensemble That Follows an ‘Artistic Vision’

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina—Shen Yun Performing Arts captivated audiences in Buenos Aires on April 19 with performances of classical Chinese dance and music inspired by 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture.

Audience members praised the production’s artistry, spiritual themes, and innovative stage presentation.

Audrin Bermudez Zea, a lawyer, described the performance as emotionally and spiritually uplifting.

“I think the Shen Yun performance is a show full of splendor and spirituality that nourishes the soul with every possible form of beauty,” Ms. Bermudez Zea said. “It nourishes in every sense.”

Adabel Guerrero, an actress with more than one million followers on social media, praised the dancers’ technique and the production’s visual creativity.

“The technique of the dancers, the choreography, the costumes—they’re fabulous,” Ms. Guerrero said. “The technology they incorporated with the screen and the way they mixed fantasy into the stage was very interesting and very fun.”

Concert pianist Homero Francesch said Shen Yun stood apart from ordinary entertainment productions.

“It’s not just a show,” Mr. Francesch said. “It’s really an ensemble that aims to follow a specific artistic vision. I believe their strength lies in demonstrating that human beings are good.”

Based in New York, Shen Yun’s mission is to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture from before communism through classical Chinese dance and music.

Audience members said the performance’s cultural and spiritual themes resonated deeply with them.

“I thought the show was wonderful,” Ms. Guerrero said. “I really like how they convey Chinese culture.”

She also praised Shen Yun’s integration of digital technology with live performance.

“They incorporated screens that interact with the dancers, which I thought was fabulous,” she said.

Ms. Bermudez Zea said the performance awakened emotions of peace and renewal.

“Human beings need beauty to awaken their purest and most sublime feelings,” she said. “This group of artists conveys beauty, peace, calm, and a feeling of being reborn all the time.”

Alfredo Stefano, a show producer, said Shen Yun introduced audiences to the spiritual and historical foundations of traditional Chinese culture.

“I found the performance fascinating—incredible,” Mr. Stefano said. “It reveals faith, deities, and the profound knowledge of China’s 5,000 years of culture.”

He added that the production also gave audiences insight into the origins of classical Chinese dance and the spiritual discipline of Falun Dafa.

Ms. Bermudez Zea said Shen Yun’s performers conveyed something beyond technical mastery.

“It’s not simply a performing arts company dancing with mastery,” she said. “There is also a deep spiritual rootedness—a sense of connection to the divine that they seek to convey to the world.”

“I believe this is something unique, something precious and sublime,” she added.
