Cuba, a major strategic ally for Russia and China, is now exposed after the capture of former Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro. John Suarez, executive director of the Center for a Free Cuba, unpacks what that means in One-on-One with Steve Lance.

Suarez shares his insights into the hidden power structures behind Havana’s influence and why Maduro’s removal could mark a turning point for U.S. security in the Americas.

“We have to remember that Cuba had successfully penetrated over the years, USAID, the State Department, the CIA, the Defense Intelligence Agency in the Pentagon, the National Security Council,” he says.

He adds, “The CCP views Cuba as an analog or counter with Taiwan, and having it there next to the United States, they also have four bases spying on the U.S., and they have been since at least 1992, as we know by the public record.”
