Johannes Brahms: Piano Concerto No. 1 | Mei-Ting Sun | OSX
Program 1:
J. Brahms: Piano Concerto No. 1
Mei-Ting Sun, piano
Martin Lebel, principal director
The Piano Concerto No. 1 is a gigantic work that was born as a two-piano sonata, and after five years of hard work by the overwhelming genius of Brahms, it became an imposing and uncompromising concerto that continues to amaze more than a century after its creation. Composed in 1854 and completed for its first performances in 1859, it has three movements full of intensity, emotional contrast, spiritual devotion, and vigor.
Performed by the brilliant pianist of international stature: Mei-Ting Sun.
