NTD Evening News (Aug. 23): Giuliani Surrenders at Jail in Georgia Election Case; Wagner Boss Reported Dead After Fatal Jet Crash
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani surrendered at Fulton County jail on Aug. 23 over charges brought in Georgia regarding his alleged efforts to dispute the results of the 2020 election. Mr. Giuliani had his bond set at $150,000. He is one of 19 co-defendants, including former President Donald Trump, in the case brought by Fulton County District Attorney, Fani Willis.
The first debate in the Republican presidential primary season will take place at 9 p.m. Eastern time at the Fiserv Forum in downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump confirmed in a social media post that his interview with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson will be released around the same time.
Wagner Group chief Yevgeny Prigozhin was among passengers on a plane that crashed northwest of Moscow, according to Russian state media. The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry told TASS News and RIA Novosti that all 10 people on board the private plane died in the crash in Tver Oblast, and that Mr. Prigozhin was on the list of passengers on board the plane.
