President Donald Trump provided new details on Operation Absolute Resolve—the mission that led to the capture of former Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro and his wife—on Tuesday.

The president delivered wide-ranging remarks to House Republicans at the Trump–Kennedy Center, outlining the party’s agenda for the year ahead and eulogizing California Republican Representative Doug LaMalfa, who passed away Monday at the age of 65. Meanwhile, lawmakers are preparing to vote on a minibus bill to advance government funding ahead of the Jan. 31 deadline, in an effort to avert another government shutdown.

The CDC has announced major changes to its vaccine recommendations, reducing the number of shots advised for all children. Meanwhile, the Trump administration is moving to halt more than $10 billion in child care and social services funding to five states over concerns that benefits may have gone to non-citizens. The pause would affect California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, and New York.
