Pentagon Urges Funding for Ukraine, Department of Defense When House Is Back in Session

Deputy Defense Department Press Secretary Sabrina Singh expressed the Pentagon’s worries over a potential government shutdown at a Tuesday press conference in Washington, urging the House to pass a supplemental spending bill providing Ukraine aid and upcoming financial allocations for the entire Defense Department.

Ms. Singh added that these supplemental spending bills are still only a “stopgap,” and that the use of continuing resolutions limits the Pentagon’s ability to fund a “fully-resourced national defense strategy.”
