Pfizer Failed to Disclose Risk to Babies in RSV Vaccine Trial: Investigation | Facts Matter

An investigation was published recently in the British Medical Journal that outlined how Pfizer failed to disclose to pregnant women the risks that were potentially present in their vaccine trials.

Despite the fact that another clinical trial (from a different company, but testing a similar drug) was forced to shut down, and despite the fact that Pfizer themselves were studying premature births as an “adverse event of special interest,” they did not inform the pregnant women in their clinical trial.

But the story gets wilder: these facts weren’t forthcoming. Instead, the researchers at the British Medical Journal had to do serious leg work in order to figure all this out.
