Protesters in Amman, Jordan Clash With Police Near Israeli Embassy

Security forces in the Kingdom of Jordan dispersed demonstrations outside the al-Kalouti Mosque in the capital Amman on Wednesday, and prevented them from marching toward the Israeli embassy building nearby.

A group of demonstrators threw stones at security forces, who fired tear gas in response. Protesters chanted anti-Israel and anti-U.S. slogans, and carried placards and Palestinian flags. Jordanian security forces allowed the protesters to demonstrate in the same place throughout the day before breaking up the gathering at midnight.
