Sen. Kennedy Grills Judge Nominee Over Her Past Writings Supporting Assignment of Transgender Inmates to Female Prisons

At a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Sept. 6, Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) grilled Eumi K. Lee, a nominee to be United States District Court Judge for the Northern District of California, over one of her past writings in which she argued that male prisoners should be allowed to claim they are transgender in order to be assigned to a female prison.
