Teachers’ Win Over COVID Vaccine Mandates On Hold as NYC Education Department Appeals Ruling: Michael Kane
During the pandemic, government workers and teachers took the brunt of the COVID mandates. As other workplaces rolled out requirements that vaccines were necessary, or that a person would lose their job, such employees were viewed as an example of what could happen to those who didn’t comply. But many still refused to comply. Not only that, some of them even filed lawsuits. And recently, one of those lawsuits scored a major victory in New York, where a judge ruled that 10 employees who were fired by the New York City Department of Education for refusing to get the COVID-19 vaccine were to be reinstated with back pay. However, their return to work is now on hold as the Department of Education appeals the decision. Here to speak with us about the matter is one of the teachers, Michael Kane, who is also the founder of Teachers for Choice.
