Trump to Striking Auto Workers: EV Mandates ‘Will Spell the Death of the US Auto Industry’

Former President Donald Trump spoke to striking UAW workers in Clinton Township, Mich., on Sept. 27, while other Republican candidates for the 2024 presidential nomination were attending the 2nd GOP presidential debate in California. During his address, President Trump railed against the Biden administrations’ electric vehicle mandates, and said they would “spell the death of the U.S. auto industry.”
