‘We’re a Conservative, Center-Right Party: I Can Help Unite That’: Rep. Jim Jordan to Run for Speaker Post

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) became the first Republican on Wednesday to announce a run for Speaker of the House, in a bid to succeed the ousted Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.). Rep. Jordan told reporters that his politics are “entirely consistent with where conservatives and Republicans are across the country,” and that he believes he is the person who can unite the Republican Party.
