Yellen Rejects Moody’s Negative Outlook on US Credit Rating, Says Economy ‘Fundamentally Strong’

U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen says she disagrees with Moody’s recent change in its outlook on the nation’s credit rating from stable to negative, telling reporters she believes the economy is “fundamentally strong” during a Monday press briefing at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit in San Francisco.

She also warned about what she sees as the potential economic dangers of a government shutdown.
