Zohran Mamdani Sworn in as New York City Mayor; Dozens Dead in Swiss Ski Resort Fire

Self-described democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani was sworn in as the mayor of New York City on New Year’s Day.

Dozens are dead after a fire broke out at a crowded bar in an upscale Swiss Alpine ski resort town. Local police said some 100 others are injured, with many of the casualties being foreign visitors.
