OTTAWA–Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland on June 13 dismissed a suggestion that Ottawa block the extradition of a top executive from China's Huawei Technologies to the United States, saying it would set a dangerous precedent.
Some European countries have taken steps to ban or exclude Huawei from their 5G networks, with Poland recently arresting and charging a Huawei employee with spying.
The embassy claimed that it wanted “to ensure that Huawei gets fair and indiscriminate treatment in Denmark,” because “the United States openly uses its state power to bully Huawei.”
Huawei, according to its website, entered Kenya’s market in 1998. Since then, Huawei has been involved in the construction of the country’s 2G, 3G, and 4G networks, including roughly 3,500 mobile transmission towers.

New Zealand's intelligence agency last month rejected a telecoms provider's request to use Huawei 5G equipment and Australia has banned Huawei from supplying 5G equipment. Both countries cited national security concerns.
Responding, Huawei said it was not a supplier to Orange's existing 4G network in France and would not feature in the company's 5G plans in France. Huawei does supply Orange's networks outside France and expects to be involved in 5G there, it said.
