President Joe Biden pardoned dozens of people on Dec. 12. All of the 39 individuals were convicted of nonviolent offenses, according to the White House. A pardon releases a person from serving a punishment for a federal crime and it cannot be overturned, but it does not expunge a criminal record.

Here’s who was pardoned:

Rosetta Jean Davis, 60, of Washington state
Stevoni Wells Doyle, 47, of Utah
Gregory S. Ekman, 58, of California

The White House also released the names of the 1,499 people whose sentences were commuted. Officials said all of these people have been serving their sentences in home confinement for at least one year. The White House said the people “have successfully reintegrated into their families and communities.”
