“Today Show” co-anchor Savannah Guthrie begged kidnappers to “do the right thing” in a new plea July 27, asking whoever may have taken her mother six months ago to provide information on her whereabouts.
“Make the right choice. Help us find her,” Guthrie said in the video shared on her Instagram. “Tell us where to look for her. I truly believe it is never too late to do the right thing, for all of us.”
Nancy Guthrie remains missing after authorities say she was taken from her Tucson, Arizona, home in the early morning hours of Feb. 1, 2026.
The FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s detectives are continuing to investigate what happened to the 84-year-old woman after months of searching have turned up few leads.
The case is still considered a kidnapping-for-ransom case, according to the FBI. The agency said on July 1 that agents were still evaluating ransom notes sent to authorities after Guthrie’s disappearance.
In Monday’s video, Savannah Guthrie said she and her family, which includes her older sister Annie Guthrie and brother-in-law Tommaso Cioni, were still in pain.
“It has been months since our mom was taken from us,” Savannah Guthrie said in the video. “Our family is in agony. We are in a nightmare that will not end. Nothing about our situation has changed. We have done our part. We will never stop looking for her. We will always ache for her and fill that hole in our hearts.
“The world can be a cruel and unforgiving place and I know that you have tried to do things the right way,” she said. “So I’m asking you—begging you—to do the right thing now … No matter where we’ve been and what we’ve done. I believe there is always a way home. Please make the right choice.”
Nancy Guthrie was last seen by Annie Guthrie and Cioni on Jan. 31. The family members went out to dinner in Catalina Foothills, a community of about 52,400 people outside of Tucson.

The FBI is still offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the recovery of Nancy Guthrie and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.
