With 10 weeks remaining before the Iowa primary, Republican presidential hopeful Herman Cain is running neck and neck with candidate Mitt Romney, according to a survey conducted by the Des Moines Register.
The results show Cain with a slight edge, and paint a different picture from just two months ago, when Texas governor and presidential candidate Rick Perry was leading the pack. Perry received just 7 percent of the support vote in the register poll.
Cain came under fire on Sunday when a popular political blog ran a story of two women accusing him of harassment during his involvement with a restaurant association in the 1990s.
A spokesperson for the candidate responded on Sunday evening accusing “Inside the Beltway media” of what he called “unsubstantiated personal attacks,” according to the Washington Examiner.
The primary in Iowa will be the first of the election season. Poll results seem to show a majority of voters are still undecided.
