The meme of Michael Jordan’s crying face was shared online following Villanova’s buzzer-beating win in the NCAA national championship game. Jordan, who attended North Carolina, was at the game and saw his Tar Heels lose in dramatic fashion—a buzzer-beating three-pointer by Villanova’s Kris Jenkins.

The original image of Jordan’s teary face is from his 2009 Hall of Fame induction ceremony speech.

At North Carolina, he hit the game-winning jumper in the 1982 national championship game to lift the Tar Heels over the Georgetown Hoyas.

When he got to the NBA, the five-time MVP led the Chicago Bulls to six NBA titles in the 90s. His incredible prowess on the court denied a number of star players from his era—like Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Karl Malone, and John Stockton—a championship of their own.
