Los Angeles Dodgers owner Frank McCourt has agreed to sell the franchise according to a joint statement released Tuesday night with Major League Baseball.

"The Los Angeles Dodgers and Major League Baseball announced that they have agreed today to a court-supervised process to sell the team and its attendant media rights in a manner designed to realize maximum value for the Dodgers and their owner, Frank McCourt," read a joint statement, according to MLB.com. "The Blackstone Group LP will manage the sale process."

The agreement comes after a well-publicized two-year divorce settlement was recently reached with McCourt’s wife Jamie, the former club president, who was seeking partial ownership.

The McCourts became owners of the proud franchise back in 2004 after purchasing it from FOX for $421 million.
The sale will not only include the Dodgers, but also Dodger Stadium, and the media rights as well.
