A guard working for G4S, the global security firm tasked with securing the London Olympics, is alleged to have spit on a British soldier and called him a “baby killer.”

“This security guard was ranting and raving at the soldier,” an unnamed source told the Sun newspaper. “He was trying to defuse the situation but the guard was going crazy. He spat at the soldier and screamed at him. He was calling him a baby killer.”

The guard, who was believed to be of Asian descent, “he left the soldier in no doubt he meant he’d been responsible for children’s deaths while serving in Afghanistan,” the source added.

The soldier, according to the source, was calm and collected during the entire incident.

A spokesperson with G4S told the Daily Telegraph that it is investigating the matter.

“We are urgently investigating allegations that a security officer spat on the ground in front of a soldier and insulted him after he was searched,” the spokesperson said. “We do not tolerate insulting behavior and where necessary appropriate disciplinary action will be taken.”

Approximately 4,700 British troops have been deployed in London during the 2012 Games along with several thousand G4S personnel.
