The old city in Jerusalem will be lit up with brilliant colors for the next week as the city started its Festival of Lights on Wednesday night.
“The Jerusalem Light Festival is a unique event that showcases some of the world’s most creative artists transforming the Old City of Jerusalem into a living work of art," Haim Gutin, Israel commissioner for Tourism, North and South America, told YNet.com.
A visitor, Alice Honig from Canada, said that the lights give one a new perspective. "During the day it’s so hot and noisy you miss small things, because you wouldn’t stop and look," she told The Associated Press. "It opens people’s eyes to things that you would walk by otherwise."
