Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. has announced its partnership with three-time MotoGP Champion Jorge Lorenzo will end following the 2016 season, according to a press release by Yamaha.

This year will mark the ninth and final year between Yamaha and Lorenzo. During their first eight years together Lorenzo made the podium in 99 of 141 races, while winning 41 times and claiming MotoGP World Championship in 2010, 2012, and again in 2015.

Lorenzo will join Ducati on a two-year deal, according to motorsport.com. According to the report, Lorenzo had been feeling like a stranger on his own team with the squad devoted to teammate Valentino Rossi—who finished second to Lorenzo in 2015 and previously was with Ducati for two unsuccessful years himself.
