Toddla T (Tom Bell) makes his bid for the mainstream with a well produced yet bland album, containing a multitude of decent MCs and singers.

But as with the title track Watch Me Dance (feat. Roots Manuva), they can’t salvage the uninspiring music on offer. Dancehall, bashment and R’n’B are the main influences here, but little is present to elevate the tracks to the best of those genres.

According to Mr. Bell it’s best to play after a night out, and there are a couple of tracks that have touches of genuine emotion (Do it Your Way) or wry humour (Badman Flu). But for an album on the esteemed Ninja Tune it’s disappointingly tacky and musically flaccid.
