You can now consume a donut covered in gold.
If you are strolling through Downtown Los Angeles, why not stop by Birdies—”fresh, fun, all natural food, served fast”—for a $100 donut.
The pricey donut is dipped in a cream cheese champagne glaze before being coating in flakes of 24-karat gold leaf.
All completely edible, a dozen of these fancy donuts will cost you $1,000. A bargain?
In addition to its golden donut, Birdies offers patrons a Lemon Thyme Pistachio donut and a Candied Bacon Maple donut, all of which are baked hourly.
Boasting “a simple menu of Americana classics reimagined with a modern twist,” Birdies specializes in coffee, donuts, and chicken.
The eatery is a collaboration between Chef Jason Harley (also known as Chef J) and Keith Bae.
