“I thought it was pretty amazing. I never experienced anything like that before. I’m at a loss for words," said Mr. Johnson after the show.
“The show itself, is really beyond words, I mean, I don’t know how to explain it, just because I’ve never seen anything like it before, it’s a blend of East and West. It really is hard to put in words.”
Mr. Johnson said that he enjoyed the music, however, he was most taken by the erhu, the two-string Chinese violin. Artist Xiachun Qi played Hope, a solo performance with piano accompaniment.
Audiences are often surprised by the expressiveness and powerful emotion conveyed by the Chinese erhu, with its otherworldly quality that stirs the soul as few instruments can.
“It’s amazing having two strings that can make all these sounds and just make it sound so beautiful.”
Mr. Johnson did have these final words to say about the show, “It's amazing. Wow!”.
