An Entertaining Medieval Tale
‘Outlaw King’
During the dawn of the 14th century, Scottish noble Robert the Bruce (Chris Pine) becomes involved in an uprising against his country’s English overlords. Before being crowned the King of Scotland, Bruce becomes labeled as an “outlaw” by King Edward I of England.
This historical underdog story has a lot going for it—a rousing score, crisp writing, great acting, and authentic costuming. However, it does tend to bog down a bit in some places. Overall, it’s a solid effort and an enjoyable watch.

There’s a lot of drama to enjoy here that becomes even tenser once a series of dreadful disasters strike.
