Shen Yun’s 2026 Mid-Autumn Festival Technique Showcase will stream online beginning Oct. 24 at 8 p.m. ET.

The program will premiere exclusively on Gan Jing World, a social media and video streaming platform whose mission is to provide a safe, family-friendly online experience.

“Year after year, Shen Yun plays to sold-out houses in the world’s leading theaters. This month, audiences can see what makes its dancers extraordinary without leaving home,” Gan Jing World said, adding that the showcase will be available for a limited time.

The New York-based performing arts company specializes in classical Chinese dance, combining expressive storytelling with demanding physical skills. Its stage productions also feature ethnic and folk dances, orchestral accompaniment, and solo performers.

The annual Mid-Autumn Festival Technique Showcase gives audiences a closer look at that artistry, bringing together Shen Yun’s leading dancers and rising performers at the company’s headquarters during the Mid-Autumn Festival. The announcement says the event highlights their strength, precision, and coordination through leaps, spins, and tumbling techniques.

The program centers on two techniques: shen-dai-shou, translated as “the body leads the hands,” and kua-dai-tui, or “the hips lead the legs.” Both use internal movement from the body’s core to guide the arms and legs, allowing dancers to create sweeping motions that blend power and fluidity.

“These techniques let dancers generate powerful, sweeping movement from the body, blending strength, precision, and elegance into every motion—whether in leaps, spins, or gravity-defying flips,” states the program description.

Audiences can watch on the Shen Yun Creations channel through Gan Jing World’s website or app. Viewers can watch on phones, computers, and televisions. Gan Jing World’s app is available on iOS, Android, Android TV, Roku TV, and LG smart TVs. The app is also available for free on Roku TV and LG smart TVs.

The premiere follows Shen Yun’s 20th anniversary world tour. As Shen Yun heads into its 21st year touring, the performing arts company had eight touring companies performing simultaneously across five continents last year, presenting more than 730 performances in 20 countries to audiences totaling more than 1 million people.

Founded in 2006 in New York, Shen Yun is the world’s premier classical Chinese dance and music company, with a mission to revive 5,000 years of China’s divinely inspired heritage and share it with audiences.

“It’s more than just a performance—it’s a revival of the beauty and goodness of China before communism. With stories and legends, vibrant costumes and backdrops, original music and a few fun surprises—it’s an experience that will delight your senses, inspire your heart, and just leave you feeling great,” states Shen Yun’s website.
