The finalists and winners of NTD’s 5th International Photography Competition gathered in New York City on Jan. 29 for the awards ceremony.

The Gold Award went to Adrian Yu from Hong Kong. He said he wants to share a message through his photography, which is that the world needs truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance.

Yu said he will continue to sharpen his skills in photography, and that he felt deeply inspired by the other artists’ works.

“The NTD International Photography Competition covers a very wide range of themes, including humanity, landscapes, and humanistic photography,” Yu said. “The themes are extremely diverse, which really opened up a lot of space for my imagination.”
