Video: 23 Illegal Immigrants Intercepted on Boat Off Colombian Coast

Some 23 illegal immigrants—among them three minors—were intercepted on Oct. 4 on a boat off Colombia’s San Andres Island. The Colombian Navy spotted a boat with, among others, 15 Venezuelans, 6 Chinese, 1 Argentine, and 1 Colombian passenger south of San Andres Island in the Caribbean Sea, and bound for Central America. The rescued people were turned over to the Colombian immigration authorities, while the 3 minors were placed in the care of the Colombian Police Force’s Infancy and Adolescence service. The boat’s captain and another crew member were arrested and turned over to the prosecutor’s office.
