State Department Says It Does Not Support an Israeli Offensive in Rafah

State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said Monday that the Biden Administration does not support an Israel Defense Forces move into the Southern Gazan city of Rafah.

Israeli forces are warning Palestinian civilians to evacuate the city ahead of their advance, yet concerns from the U.S. State Department include the question of how a plan to move residents—as well as those who have fled there from other cities—out of Rafah would be carried out.
