New York Times Plans Attack on Shen Yun: Investigative Report
The New York Times has been preparing a hit piece against Shen Yun Performing Arts, The Epoch Times has learned.
New York-based Shen Yun travels the world with a mission: to revive Chinese culture before communism. It also seeks to shine a light on human rights abuses happening in today’s China.
What did the Epoch Times investigation discover about The New York Times? Epoch Times investigative reporter Petr Svab and “Crossroads” host Joshua Philipp join China in Focus host Tiffany Meier to discuss.
Petr Svab: “They (NYT) reached out to her (a former Shen Yun dancer) to ask specifically about a dance injury she had during a performance years ago. And they kind of suggested in the email that part of the story would try to make it look like that the dancers are not receiving proper medical care when they get injured during practice or performing on stage. She was a bit upset about that, because that was not her experience.”
Petr Svab: “They’ve been very eager to expand their presence to penetrate the Chinese market.” “Even a former executive editor of the New York Times came out and said in her book that after they published an exposé on the family wealth of former Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, the CCP expelled their reporters. And the publisher of the paper was trying to write (an) apologetic letter to the CCP and appease the regime again, and find a way to get back in.”
Joshua Philipp: “Even when they had a tribunal in the UK, proving that the Chinese Communist Party is harvesting the organs from living Falun Gong practitioners and selling them for profit – The New York Times blocked the story.”
