Trump Meets With Japan’s Prime Minister; Netanyahu Invites House Speaker to Israel

President Donald Trump met Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba for the first time on Friday as two allies wary of China’s rise work to boost business and security ties while an escalating trade war threatens to rupture the global economy.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has praised Trump for issuing sanctions against the International Criminal Court. Speaking alongside House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), Netanyahu thanked Johnson for his continued cooperation with Israel and invited him to visit Jerusalem this year.

A coalition of 14 state attorneys general is suing to block the Department of Government Efficiency from accessing federal payment systems. They argue the access granted is unlawful and threatens Americans’ personal data privacy. Meanwhile, a top DOGE staffer has resigned.
