New Messages From Government Signal Group Revealed; SCOTUS Upholds Federal ‘Ghost Guns’ Restrictions

The Atlantic published more messages on Wednesday from the Signal chat group that included top U.S. security officials, including Vice President JD Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt wrote on social media platform X that “The Atlantic has conceded: these were NOT ‘war plans.’”

Should taxpayer dollars be used to fund public media? That’s the question at the heart of a hearing on Capitol Hill on Wednesday. The Oversight Committee’s DOGE panel is probing the CEOs of NPR and PBS. Republicans are accusing the outlets of reporting bias in favor of Democrats, while Democrats say there are bigger issues at hand that should take priority.

The Supreme Court has upheld a regulation imposed by the previous administration targeting largely untraceable “ghost guns” in a crackdown on the firearms, the use of which has proliferated in crimes nationwide. The Court found the measure to be consistent with a 1968 federal law.
