Supreme Court Hears Arguments on Temporary Protected Status for Haitians, Syrians

The Supreme Court hears arguments on Wednesday over the Trump administration’s push to end temporary protected status (TPS) for Haitian and Syrian nationals. The government is appealing lower-court orders blocking the Department of Homeland Security from quickly ending TPS for people from the two countries.

The court has sided with the administration before and allowed the program to end for people from Venezuela, though the justices did not detail their reasoning, as lawsuits continue to play out.
