Congressional-Executive Commission on China Holds Hearing on CCP’s Transnational Repression

The Congressional-Executive Commission on China holds a hearing at 1 p.m. ET on June 4 titled “The PRC’s Threats to Americans: Transnational Repression & State-Level Responses.”

The hearing examines the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP’s) use of transnational repression and malign influence operations in the United States, including efforts to intimidate critics, diaspora communities, universities, companies, and civil society organizations. Lawmakers and witnesses are expected to discuss coordination among federal, state, and local governments to respond to threats linked to the CCP.
