At least 188 people are dead, with potentially thousands more injured or trapped under rubble after two major earthquakes with magnitudes of 7.5 and 7.2 struck Venezuela on Wednesday evening. The U.S. Geological Survey estimates the final death toll could reach as high as 10,000. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio says he has already spoken with Delcy Rodriguez, Venezuela’s acting president, coordinating U.S. support.

A U.S. official says Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched a drone at a cargo vessel in the Strait of Hormuz on June 24. This incident comes after the United States and Iran entered into a memorandum of understanding that included an end to hostilities and open access through the Strait of Hormuz.

The Supreme Court allows the Trump Administration to revive an Obama-era restrictive policy under which immigration officials can turn back migrants seeking asylum at the U.S.-Mexico border, as they need to be on U.S. soil to make such a request.
