Trudeau Calls US Tariffs ‘Very Dumb Thing to Do’; Zelenskyy Says Clash With Trump Was ‘Regrettable’

Canada is imposing 25 percent tariffs on CA$30 billion worth of U.S. imports with immediate effect, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told reporters on Tuesday. He said that President Donald Trump’s new tariffs were “a very dumb thing to do.” China also retaliated against the U.S. tariffs with hikes on import levies covering $21 billion worth of American agricultural and food products.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that last Friday’s Oval Office clash with Trump and Vice President JD Vance was “regrettable,” and that he wanted to “make things right.” His statement was issued a day after Trump halted military aid to Kyiv.

A House subcommittee has heard testimony on the persistent shortage of air traffic controllers and the significant technology and infrastructure woes faced by the Federal Aviation Administration.
