Mother Wins Landmark Case Against School for Secretly Transitioning Daughter
Parents are fighting back against schools “parenting” their children—and the parents are winning. In Monterey County, California, Jessica Konen has won a victory in court against the school district that “socially transitioned” her daughter, Alicia. After joining the school’s “Equality Club,” Alicia was given “articles on how to conceal her supposed new gender identity from her mother” and was given a “Gender Support Plan” that required school staff to refer to her by a male name. And this transition was kept a complete secret from Ms. Konen.
In a settlement, Ms. Konen won $100,000 for violation of her parental rights, setting a landmark precedent for further interactions between schools and parents when it comes to gender indoctrination.
Joining us is Eric Sell, associate counsel for the Center for American Liberty, which represented Ms. Konen in the case.
