After receiving a royal welcome from the Japanese monarch and expressing optimism about a trade deal with China, President Donald Trump will meet with Japan’s new prime minister Sanae Takaichi on Tuesday for trade and security talks. Trump also commented on the possibility of a meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Trump has issued a warning after Russia announced a nuclear missile test. He dismissed claims that the weapon could reach the United States and pointed to a U.S. nuclear submarine positioned near Russia as part of the country’s defense posture.

Hurricane Melissa underwent extreme rapid intensification over the weekend and continues to strengthen. The rare Category 5 has winds of 175 mph, with stronger gusts, making it the strongest storm on the planet this year.
