Rep. Calls on Parties to ‘Inspire Debate,’ Not ‘Suppress Competition’

Former Democratic presidential candidate Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.) tells The Epoch Times’ Jan Jekielek he’s “pleased” that President Joe Biden stepped out of the 2024 presidential race, even though he wishes “it had been done in a way that would have promoted competition and inspired it.” He says his hope is that both political parties “inspire debate,” not “suppress competition.”
