Hegseth Says Trump to Order End to DEI in Military; Survivors Mark 80th Anniversary of Auschwitz Liberation
President Donald Trump will soon sign executive orders removing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs from the U.S. Military and reinstating thousands of troops discharged for refusing vaccines during the COVID-19 pandemic, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said on Monday. Trump is also scheduled to make a keynote speech about his legislative agenda at the House Republicans’ annual retreat, which will be held at Trump National Doral Miami this year.
World leaders and survivors are marking the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz in 1945 by Allied forces. The ceremony is widely recognized as the last major commemorative event in which survivors could participate.
A 3.8 magnitude earthquake near the coast of Maine rattled houses in northern New England on Monday and was felt by surprised residents of states hundreds of miles away.
